Putting together your own Christmas Eve box is a magical way to create some lovely family memories for your little ones. It’s simple to do, too – just buy or decorate a box and fill it with small festive treats, then pop it under the tree for your little elves to discover on Christmas Eve.

To create ours, we used these Christmas Eve boxes from Wilko and lined them with festive wrapping paper. We've compiled some cute ideas to help you with your boxes too, including Numberblocks and Bluey gifts, Giggly activity packs, and some other brands we love. Scroll down for inspiration!

Let's Go Shopping game, £15.99, Giggly

Christmas Eve can be a little busy! Spuds to peel, last-minute presents to wrap and an over-excited 4-year-old asking one hundred questions about Santa. Keep little hands and minds busy with this colourful set, which includes four shopping games and an activity book crammed full of fun and learning.

Decorate Your Own Gingerbread Man Kit, £4.99, Lakeland

Christmas is officially gingerbread season, and with this kit you get all the fun of decorating without having to even switch the oven on! Create some cute designs together or let your kids loose with the icing while you finish wrapping presents. Each pack includes pre-cooked gingerbread figures, ready-to-use icing, and colourful sweets to decorate.

Alphabet Letter Cushion, £14.99, Prezzybox

Great if you want to make your child's Christmas Eve box a bit more personal, but you can't find any items with their name on (if you know, you know). The star print adds a nice festive touch too.

Llama Hot Water Bottle, £14.99, Prezzybox

Make bedtime on Christmas Eve extra special with this super fluffy hot water bottle, which is perfect for snuggling up with. In fact, we might be stealing this one for ourselves...

Super Socks in a Bag, from £4.55, Frugi

Everyone knows Christmas is the time to don a new pair of socks – the fluffier, the better! Pop these super socks from Frugi into your Christmas Eve box for toasty toes and ear-to-ear smiles. They're made from 90% organic cotton, and there's four designs to choose from, including a cute penguin and a soft white polar bear. We love the matching gift bag, too.

Plush Polar Bear Cub, £17.99, Living Nature

We love the level of detail that goes into Living Nature's furry friends – from the fuzzy fur on their noses to the fluffy tails – and this polar bear is perfect for cuddles in bed on the eve before Santa’s arrival.

Guess How Much I Love you book, £6.99, Giggly

If we could sum up this book with a single emoji, it would be this one = 😭. We love the beautiful illustrations inside Sam McBratney's much-loved story about Little Nutbrown Hare and Big Nutbrown Hare, so put on your PJs, snuggle under the covers and read it together the night before the big day. We can't promise you won't find a little something in your eye afterwards.
