A fun fish and chip shop role play activity
by Natalie Keeler

Role play areas have so many learning wins – and this fish and chip shop activity is up there as one of our favourites. We love this idea because it encourages independent play, helps kids practise counting and adding up, and introduces them to the letter sounds 'sh' and 'ch'.

It takes no time at all to recreate this seaside staple – scroll down to download our free fish and chip shop role play PDF, which includes signs, pretend food, a menu, plates, cutlery and toy money. We can't promise you won't be hankering for real fish and chips afterwards, though 👀

 Giggly Literacy Magazine

This activity is an extension of Giggly Literacy Magazine, available now on the Giggly shop. It's crammed full of activities that follow the phonics curriculum all the way up to set 9. And this time we did the printing for you!
