We love a loo-roll craft, and this easy make is perfect for a rainy day indoors. Scroll down for a few learning ideas that you can try off the back of this activity – and while you've got the googly eyes out, why not have a go at creating a sock octopus or snazzy loo roll snake

You will need:

  • Toilet paper roll tubes
  • Pink paint
  • Googly eyes
  • Scissors
  • Pink button

How to make this pig toilet paper roll craft

Step 1

Cut the toilet roll tube in half.

Step 2

Now your child paints it piggy pink.

Step 3

Once dry, they add pink paper ears, googly eyes and a button nose.

Step 4

After that, snip into the tube to create front trotters. For the tail, they twist paper to make it curl.

The physical elements of this make (cutting, sticking and painting) all help develop your child's fine motor skills. Have a sing-a-long while you’re crafting too. Which other animals were on Old MacDonald’s farm? What sounds do they make? Are there any famous pigs that your little one knows? Maybe ones who like jumping in muddy puddles…
