Kids will love bowling over these snowman skittles

Build 'em up to knock 'em down!
by Jessica Boyle

Here's an easy snowman skittle game your kids can make to keep them busy in the run-up to Christmas. They’re perfect for the whole family to play – from gin-soaked grannies and toddlers on a chocolate high!

You'll need

  • Loo rolls
  • Black paper
  • Sticky tape
  • Scrunched-up paper ball
  • Paint (white, black and orange)
  • Paintbrush

How to make snowman skittles

Step 1

First, your kids paint the loo rolls white.

Step 2

Now they snip strips of black paper, and use sticky tape to wrap the strips around the top of each roll.

Step 3

Now for the fun bit – they paint different faces on each snowman. Why not get the whole family involved for this bit and design your own snow men or women?

Step 4

Once dry, stand the snowmen up in a pyramid shape, and then throw the scrunched paper ball at them to knock them down. Each player takes two aims and score a point for each skittle they knocked down. Can your child add up the points each person scored?

Learning guide

Once they've finished making their skittles look fantastic, they'll have tons of fun standing them up and knocking them down again. Get them to keep score as they play – how many skittles did they start off with? How many did they knock down, and how many are left?
