Hey Duggee is perfect for entertaining children and for teaching them a few life lessons, too. Episodes cover everything from drawing, baking and sharing to philosophy and topiary. But none may be as useful as the Toothbrush Badge.

You can download and print this free Toothbrush Badge activity sheet to encourage your child to brush their teeth. Not because you say so – oh no – because Duggee does! Oh, and because no-one wants to smell like Alain L-Odeur – we imagine it's like having a cat yawn in your face.

You could also play the Toothbrush Song and challenge your child to keep brushing until the music finishes. Handily, the song lasts for 2 minutes – the exact length of time dentists recommend brushing your teeth for.

Well done Squirrels, you earned your Toothbrush Badge!

Learning guide

Make this activity about more than just brushing teeth by asking your child to cut out the brushing chart and toothbrush holder – this is a great way to develop their fine motor skills, which they’ll need as they learn to write. Because the Toothbrush Song lasts for as long as they need to brush their teeth for (two minutes), this also helps kids understand what this length of time passing feels like. Plus, there’s space for them to practise writing their name along the top of the sheet too. You’ll never have to beg them to brush their teeth again!
