How to make a pop–up card

Step 1

Ask your child to colour in the pop-up part of the card (the bear, the flower, or the robot), then cut it out along the dashed lines. Fold back the tabs along the dotted lines.

Step 2

Meanwhile, get your child to fold your card in half and decorate it with crayons or colouring pencils.

Step 3

When the pop-up part of your card is ready, position it in the middle of the card. Add a bit of glue to each tab and stick them to the card on each side.

Step 4

Practise opening and closing the card. To really make the bear pop out, it helps to fold back along the middle (in the opposite direction to the fold in the card.

Step 5

Now, ask your child to write a message inside their card.
